BLAZE, THE AFRICAN GRAY – 1ST OF 5 Part Parrot Haiku

The photos you will see are of my sister’s parrots.
I think they are amazing, so I decided to write a 5 part Haiku series
for all the bird lovers out there!

Imitates voices

Howls and talks with canine friends

Loves nibbling on toes

(I have to say his voice imitation is incredible!)

  1. I read them in the wrong order, starting with two then back to one. lol. Love the pictures and the poems for each and everyone of them. Thank you for sharing them with us. You were busy over the holidays. God Bless 🙂

    1. I’m laughing, PJ, you’re too funny! 🙂 Yes, I took a lot of photos and when I saw her parrots, I thought it would be fun to do this series. I think they’re beautiful and how she deals with 5, I don’t know, because they can be a bit noisy, but really awesome creatures. However, she loves animals and has many fish, 2 dogs, used to have a cat and of course, the parrots! 🙂

Thanks again and Blessings to you, too!

    1. Thanks, Betty, these were fun and something different to do…he is my favorite because of his voice imitations. I’ve often thought I hear my brother-in-law talking, when, in fact, it’s Blaze! 🙂

  2. I also read these in the wrong order 🙂 lol. I love the photos and the Haiku. I am so amazed that your sister handles so many, and the other pets. That is just so sweet she is definitely an animal lover, too 🙂

Yes I like Birds alright 🙂
    This fine looking grey one
    is indeed a very exquisite
    and wonderful Parrot 🙂

    Thank you for offering your
    sister’s Parrots, they are all
    rather beautiful birds 🙂

    1. Thanks, Androgoth, for your nice comment and for your visits. I appreciate them very much and I’m glad you’re enjoying this parrot series! They are beautiful, with all of the vibrant colors! 🙂

    1. Thanks, Joe, and actually, years ago, I had a parrot, then a cockatiel. Then we had our dog, who passed away in November and I think we’ll be adopting another dog in the next few months. So, a bird probably won’t be in the picture, but I do love them, too! 🙂

    1. I agree, but believe me, my sister gives them greater care than humans! Just kidding, but they do receive loving care. She is a wonderful animal lover of all sorts. I’m glad you enjoyed these; they are amazing birds! Hugs! xx

  4. Thank you again. I enjoyed your haikus. I feel like I know these birds. I’d prefer mashed potatoes over oranges, as a staple. I think there are lot of people out there who like to nibble on toes too!

    1. Russell, your comment made me smile! Thanks so much and I’m glad you enjoyed these! They get wonderful treatment; my sister is an animal lover, to say the least. You’re probably right about the toes, too! 🙂

    1. I’m glad you can relate! 🙂 Seriously, I love that about Blaze; he’s amazing and there have been many times I think my sister or her husband are talking and it’s him, instead! It’s remarkable what animals can be trained to do! 🙂

  5. This is the sister, 5 parrot owner, responding to some of the comments. Yes, Dynamo, Bingo, and Angel Beepers are the noisy ones at times. The toe nibbler Blaze is native to Africa and is an avid talker and excellent voice imitator. Lauren, your brother-in-law (my wonderful pet loving and tolerating husband) says he would like to let Blaze nibble on YOUR toes and see what you call it then—hmmm would it be toe nibbling or toe biting demon!!! They are all messy and tease the miniature pinschers when they eat. The dogs are good cleaner-uppers in addition to the vacuum. These parrots are out of their cages at least 2 hours daily having playpen time and get lots of hands on time with me and hubby. Love all your comments!

    1. Thank you so much! I was inspired while visiting during the holidays and thought it would be fun. I’m glad so many have enjoyed these! Thanks for your kind words!
