Morning After

Sun spills in

 through billowing curtains

gently, though,

so not to startle dreams

Sated bodies delight in

love tangling

 Sheets silky soft

caressing skin

nothing can compare

to this moment

that shouldn’t end

but we bid farewell

to moonlight

knowing we have sunlight

to share

  1. It’s the sharing of the sunlight and the moon lite nights that create the intimacy you so vividly describe. Lauren – so beautifully written. Virginia

  2. 🙂 so beautiful and comforting the knowing that we have someone to share the sun and moon caresses and hugs
Beautiful poem Lauren loved the sensous ink of this poem 🙂

    1. Thank you so much and this may sound silly, but I don’t know your name or do you go by your blog name? I appreciate your encouraging comment very much! 🙂

    1. Aww…thanks, Celeste, and there’s more spice in some of my older romance, if you have the time…and speaking of spice, your blog has been on fire! 🙂

  3. I think this is one of your best-great imagery. Would like to post this on my guest Wednesdays. If you will participate please scan and send as jpeg and I will use you pic and bio from last post.

This is really nice. But somehow I’m reminded of my “younger/naughtier” days when the morning after meant hearing a, “You’re still here?” Then having to take “the walk of shame…”

    1. Thanks, Rynna, but I’m so sorry to make you remember that…I’m sure we’ve all had similar moments, though…I hope there are no more walks of shame for you and only much love and happiness~ 🙂

    1. Aww…thanks for stopping by, Binky, I didn’t know you enjoyed poetry in addition to your love of inventing and space. But, I’m really happy to see you and hope you’ll come back again! I hope you have a great Friday, too, and wonder what you’ll be up to today! Well, I do hope your day includes lots of wine gums! Hugs! 🙂

Ahhh, lovely, romantic poem, Lauren – I especially love the last few lines, where the waking to share the sun is as important as sharing the night … just lovely! ~ Love, Julie xoxox
