We sat in cushioned pews, embraced by God’s love,
awestruck by the strength of her faith. Her words were
pillars of conviction. Her eyes never lost their luster
for His surrounding beauty. She moved gracefully
around the stage, as her voice was a hymn to our
saddened souls. Although her body was failing, she
wore elegance beautifully in the stylish cap. Her smile
permeated the sanctuary. Even so, we held back tears,
ready for pouring. God needed one more angel. He knew
her death would cause heartache for her devoted husband
and two lovely teens.  Yet, still He called her home.
She soon received her wings.

While walking down the street,
I couldn’t help but feel peace,
listening to the rustling leaves

without the company of cars.
Then something pungent struck me,
so tangible, I could reach out

and touch…the fragrance of wealth,
and for a fleeting moment,
eyes slowing blinking,

I felt a sense of yearning.
Perhaps, there are those moments
where wishes aren’t so Heavenly,

but very earthly, indeed.
However, the hunger subsided
as rapidly as it came to be

and I sighed, contentedly,
knowing God has provided me
with everything I truly need

Cuddles trotted and prodded down the slippery slope
Rain dropped in droves; her wiggly legs could hardly cope
She terribly missed her Mama and Papa so
Poor Cuddles muddled in the muddy yuck all alone

Cuddles needed critters to brighten her droopy mood
She shivered and quivered and needed some food
It wasn’t like her to constantly brood
but where was Mama and Papa, she crooned

They wouldn’t leave her by her lonesome
They’d make sure she’s protected and then some
Cuddles prayed, off and on, for friendly critters to come
Critter drifters to frolic with, so not to think of Pa and Mum

Cuddles thought of the One and how He guided her along
With the One silently beside her, though wobbly, she’d be strong
but, Cuddles had flutter butterflies in her tummy,
thinking things was wrong

‘cuz Mama and Papa was gone,
and suddenly, funny thing, she heard a song

“Hark, I hear jolly sounds,” Cuddles thought, “I hear happy hums!”
Cuddles stopped in her mucky tracks
and wondered where those hums came from

“Now they’re getting closer,” thought Cuddles, in her mind
“Oh, I do hope they’re just like my kind!”

Her paws didn’t budge, no, dare her not
Then just around the bend, a motion she done caught…

(Cuddles meets up with Granbee’s critters, http://granbee.wordpress.com,
and her journey surprises even herself,
as she continues her courageous search for Mama & Papa…
she may reunite with them again,
or she’ll mourn and grieve for some time,
then she’ll still believe in the One to take care of herself
with her new critter friends
.)

Believing – Haiku

Listen to God’s word

Feel His embrace through trials

As He carries us

I hear God’s whispers

Flowing through the summer breeze

I will trust in Him

Overcoming our fears that attempt to control us, if we permit them

Navigating our well-planned itineraries and giving ourselves encouragement

Examining our individual expectations, to evade unnecessary pressure

Staying focused and not allowing our visions to become clouded

Turning our negativity into optimism; energizing our minds

Embracing what we “can do” instead of dwelling on what we “can’t”

Praying for God’s Grace and continual Guidance throughout our journeys

Combining our dreams with reality and stretching our thought abilities

Leaving our failed attempts buried in the forgiving past

Opening our eyes to new, plausible and stimulating opportunities

Supporting ourselves to avoid preventable disappointments

Edging towards our much anticipated, thrilling finish lines

Remembering to view the cup half full; half empty will only deter us~
